Paper thermal transfer tags use heavier stock than labels and carry no adhesive. They suit work-in-process routing, inventory control, hang tags and any application where the identifier must be attached, filed or reused rather than stuck down.
Tags vs labels: which do you need?
A label sticks; a tag ties, clips or hangs. Choose tags when the item can't take adhesive — fabric, powder-coated metal, oily parts — or when the identifier travels with a job through production and gets handled, filed or reattached along the way.
Tag stock weights
Tag stock is measured by caliper (thickness). Lighter calipers suit short-run routing tickets; heavier card stocks stand up to repeated handling, string ties and outdoor staging without tearing at the punch hole.
Punch holes and string
Tags are available plain or pre-punched for string ties, wire, or looping onto racks and totes. Punch position and hole diameter can be specified on custom runs to match your fastening method.
Stock and custom sizes
Common tag sizes ship from stock; custom widths, lengths, perforations and punch layouts are quoted to order. All run on standard thermal transfer printers with the correct ribbon.
Ribbon pairing
Pair paper tag stock with a wax or wax-resin thermal transfer ribbon for a durable, scannable image. Heavier handling and outdoor staging call for wax-resin over plain wax.
