Applying a laminate or varnish layer through the Agilia's lamination module preserves print quality, extends card lifespan, and — with holographic options — adds a visible security feature that makes tampering and duplication far more difficult.
Varnish or Patch: Choosing the Right Protection Level
Continuous varnish applies a thin protective layer across the card and delivers up to 1,200 prints per roll — ideal for high-volume issuance where everyday durability matters. Patch laminate applies a thicker film (0.5–0.6 mil) for demanding environments and longer-life credentials, at 600 prints per roll. Registered holographic varnish positions the hologram design consistently on every card for a uniform, official appearance.
