IDP SMART-51:
The IDP SMART-51L is a dual-sided ID card printer with a built-in laminator, for organizations whose cards must last for years and resist tampering. Government agencies, police and fire services, hospitals, universities, transit authorities and corporate security teams use it for long-life employee and student IDs, access control credentials, driver and membership cards, and any badge that gets heavy daily use. It prints and laminates in one pass, and is backed by a three-year printer warranty.
Cards That Last and Resist Tampering
- Laminated for long life — A protective film shields the printed card from scratches, fading, wear and swiping, so badges last far longer than standard printed cards.
- Visual security built in — Holographic lamination films add a security layer that is hard to copy and easy to verify at a glance.
- Laminate one or both sides — Protect the front, the back or both, depending on how the card is used.
- Ready almost instantly — Patented direct lamination heats up in seconds, so the first card is ready without a long warm-up.
Print and Laminate in One Pass
Cards are printed on both sides and laminated automatically, with no separate laminator, extra handling or second workstation. Large input and output hoppers keep high-volume print runs moving with fewer interruptions.
Security for Sensitive Credentials
Administrator and user passwords, PC authentication that locks the printer to an approved computer, encrypted print data and UV security printing help protect access cards and official IDs from misuse. Magnetic stripe, contact and contactless smart card encoders are available for access control programs.
Easy to Design and Print
Included IDP SMART IDesigner software handles photo capture with automatic face detection, barcodes, sequential numbering and database connections. The printer works with Windows, Mac and Linux, and the Ethernet model supports driverless network printing and encoding.
Don't Need Lamination?
If your cards don't need lamination, the IDP SMART-51 prints the same cards for less, and can have a laminator added later.
Choose the Right Configuration
- USB — Connects directly to one PC at an ID office or security desk.
- USB + Ethernet — Shares one printer and laminator across a network for multi-user or multi-site ID programs.
